USDA’s first broiler production forecast for 2014 is 38.434 billion pounds, 2.9 percent more than the revised downward estimate of 37.339 billion pounds for 2013, according to the “World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates” report issued today from the World Agricultural Outlook Board.

In comments filed jointly today with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the National Chicken Council, USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, and the National Turkey Federation said that for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations to be successful, the final agreement must result in “real and meaningful market access to the European market for U.S. poultry.”

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published in March a notice in the Federal Register with its plan to reduce the amount of sulfur allowed in gasoline, but the notice also included a provision to allow 30-percent ethanol blended gasoline, according to a New York Times report.
