USDA’s broiler production forecast for next year continued at 36.055 billion pounds, the same as the department’s last month estimate, and is 1.3 percent less than the slightly revised upward production level of 36.544 billion pounds for 2012, according to the “World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates” report this week from the World Agricultural Outlook Board.

Chicken exports for October 2012 were 332,218 metric tons valued at $432.42 million compared with 351,578 tons valued at $436.56 million in October 2011, 5.5 percent down in quantity and a 0.9 percent slip in value.

Eurasian Economic Commission on November 21 published its tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for 2013 for poultry and meat with a TRQ for poultry of 474,900 metric tons scheduled for the Customs Union Territory (Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus), according to a USDA Foreign Agricultural Service November 27 GAIN Report from Moscow.

U.S. total broiler slaughter for the week ending December 15 is estimated by USDA-AMS’s Poultry Market News Service to be 154,316,000 broilers, a 4-percent increase from the same week a year earlier.
