In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, various NCC member companies, including Tyson Foods, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, Perdue Farms, and Mountaire Farms, have been working with affected communities to provide relief, support, and supplies.
Tyson Foods posted on their official Instagram account that it intends to use its Meals that Matter disaster relief team to provide more than 23,000 meals, water, and ice to impacted communities and first responders in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
“Thank you to our team members and volunteers who have answered the call for help. Assisting local communities in need is at the heart of our company’s purpose: Tyson Foods. We feed the world like family,” the post concluded. Tyson Foods is partnering with Feeding America and Walmart to provide this much-needed relief.
Wayne-Sanderson has partnered with Syfan Transport and Syfran Logistics in Georgia to donate energy to those affected by Helene in Georgia and the Carolinas. This initiative and some local actions are being documented on their company’s Instagram.
Perdue Farms issued a press release committing three truckloads of chicken and pet treats to recovery efforts in the Carolinas as part of their Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors outreach program.
“The unimaginable losses endured by thousands of Carolinians, in states where we operate and our associates and their families call home, is heartbreaking,” said Todd Tillemans, Chief Commercial Officer for Perdue Farms. “Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this tragedy. We hope our contributions will help speed the long recovery process for our neighbors in the region.”
Mountaire Farms is partnering with Operation BBQ Relief in North Carolina to provide food for the first responders, volunteers, and citizens impacted by the hurricane. They are also partnering with churches in Avery County, Wilkes County, Todd, and Statesville to feed those in need. Their post on Facebook offers more details.
