Along with the U.S. Senate Chicken Caucus and the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC), NCC on Thursday hosted a briefing in the Senate for members and staff regarding international trade and export issues.
NCC President Mike Brown and USAPEEC Director of Trade Policy and Technical Servies Garrett Borkhuis briefed more than 5o Senate staffers on several broiler export issues, including HPAI and HPAI vaccines, and updates on several broiler export destinations, including Mexico, China, Taiwan, India, Colombia, and others.
The briefing was not immune to the Chicken Sandwich Wars. Staffers were offered a choice for lunch of chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A or Popeye’s. Most chose both.
