Peco Foods this week welcomed new Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing – Commodity, Kevin Phillips, to its leadership team. In this position, Phillips will oversee Peco’s commodity business including volumes, mix, and pricing and will assist in development and implementation of overall sales and marketing strategies.

Phillips will be assuming the responsibilities of Bobby Wilburn who is transitioning toward retirement. Giving more than 40 years to the company, Wilburn has had a tremendous impact on Peco and the company’s success.

“We are truly appreciative of all Bobby has done for Peco and want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to him in retirement,” said Chief Commercialization Officer Steve Evans. “We are also thrilled to welcome Kevin to the team and look forward to utilizing his extensive knowledge and industry experience to strategically meet the needs of our customers.”

After earning his bachelor’s degree in poultry science from North Carolina State University, Phillips began his career with Golden Poultry. In 1999, he joined Case Farms as a sales manager, and in 2012 he was named the president and chief operating officer. With more than two decades of experience in the poultry industry, Phillips has served in multiple professional leadership positions, including Chairman of the National Chicken Council Marketing Committee, a U.S. Poultry & Egg Association Board Member and a USAPEEC Board Member.

Phillips will also serve as a Chick-fil-A® Sales Team Leader and help Peco meet the needs of this strategic account.

“Peco has a strong reputation as a family-owned company, dedicated to delivering excellence and exceeding customer needs,” Phillips said. “I look forward to bringing my industry knowledge and experience to the team to continue helping Peco meet its goals.”

Scott Alexander will maintain his position as Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing – Value Added and will continue to challenge his team to identify and secure new business and products through the distribution of retail, c-stores, QSR and other strategic accounts.

“We believe hiring the best and brightest in the industry helps Peco remain a competitive, desirable place to work,” said President and CEO Mark Hickman. “With his industry expertise, we look forward to learning from Kevin and welcoming him to the Peco family.”
