Congress this week passed a Continuing Resolution that extends government funding at current levels to December 23, giving it another week to continue negotiations on a FY2023 government funding package.

The House on Wednesday voted 224-201 to advance the bill, while the Senate voted on Thursday 71-19 to send it to President Biden’s desk for his signature.

Negotiations remain ongoing regarding a FY2023 omnibus appropriations bill that would fund the government through September 30, 2023.

An omnibus appropriations bill wasn’t signed into law for FY2022 until March of 2022, and appropriations bills have typically been negotiated beyond the funding deadline at the end of September.
