Broiler production is raised slightly on current slaughter data and higher eggs set and chicks placed, according to USDA’s September World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report.

The broiler export forecast for 2022 is lowered on recent data and expectations of slowing demand in price sensitive markets. The forecast for 2023 is unchanged.

The report estimated 93.4 million acres of corn planted through December 2021 and is projecting 88.6 million acres for 2022. 2021 yield is 177.0 bushels per acre and 2022 is projected to be 172.5 bushels per acre.

USDA estimated 87.2 million acres of soybeans planted through December 2021 and is projecting 87.5 million acres for 2022. 2021 yield is 51.4 bushels per acre and 2022 is projected to be 50.5 bushels per acre.
