The House Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee on Thursday passed the FY2023 Agriculture Appropriations bill by a voice vote.

The uncontroversial markup now sends the bill to the full House Appropriations Committee for consideration, which is scheduled for June 23.

The bill includes discretionary funding of $27.2 billion – an increase of over $2 billion or eight percent – above 2022. Including mandatory funding for programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the bill totals over $195 billion for FY2023.
