Darling Ingredients completed its acquisition of Valley Proteins, which was first announced in December 2021.
The acquisition includes Valley Proteins’ 18 major rendering plants and cooking oil facilities spread throughout the south and mid-Atlantic regions.
“We are excited to welcome Valley Proteins to the Darling Ingredients family,” Darling Ingredients chairman and CEO Randall Steuwe said. “Valley proteins has built a successful rendering and used cooking oil business that immediately strengthens our base business and expands our ability to provide additional low carbon intensity feedstocks to fuel growing demand for renewable diesel.”
Valley Proteins employs 1,900 workers and operates a fleet of 550 vehicles.
