Broiler-type chicks hatched during September 2021 totaled 802 million, down one percent from September 2020. Eggs in incubators totaled 695 million on October 1, 2021, up four percent from a year ago according to USDA latest Chickens and Eggs report.

Leading breeders placed 9.62 million broiler-type pullet chicks for future domestic hatchery supply flocks during September 2021, down one percent from September 2020.

Total frozen poultry supplies on September 30, 2021 were up one percent from the previous month but down 17 percent from a year ago. Total stocks of chicken were up three percent from the previous month but down 17 percent from last year, according to USDA’s October Cold Storage report.
