House of Raeford’s non-profit arm FLOCK, which stands for Faithful Love Offering for Christ’s Kingdom, announced the kickoff of FLOCK Cares, a program designed to honor those who serve, often without any recognition.
“These individuals are dedicated to serving their fellow citizens without regard to age, gender, race, economic background or any of those areas that often divide us,” the company said in a press release. “They may run into a burning building to save a life; or spend extra time teaching a child who has a learning disability; or be an example of integrity and commitment to co-workers in a House of Raeford location.”
Each month FLOCK Cares plans to choose three individuals to acknowledge. These could range from teachers to firefighters, law enforcement officers, healthcare workers, local House of Raeford employees, or any other individual who has demonstrated an exceptional sacrifice to others. Selections will be made in collaboration with local school administrators, fire and police chiefs, EMS supervisors, town administrators, church leaders, House of Raeford managers, and others.
Honorees will receive $1,000 in gift cards and certificates donated in collaboration with local businesses such as grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations.
“Our mission at House of Raeford Farms is to ‘do the right thing in all things that we do,'” the release said. “Driven by love and compassion for others, our nonprofit organization House of Raeford Farms FLOCK seeks to walk alongside the folks who are already doing great work in their communities and support them in their mission.”
The first month’s honorees include Jeff Gore, a lab technician at House of Raeford’s feed mill near Rose Hill, North Carolina (below, third from right).
The second honoree is Julie Davis, a media coordinator at Wallace-Rose Hill High School in Rose Hill, NC (below, third from left).
The final honoree for the program’s first month is Lee Gavin, a fireman with the Rose Hill Volunteer Fire Department (below, second from left.)
In conjunction with and alongside the focused efforts of FLOCK, House of Raeford employees and local citizens give their time by walking in fundraisers, organizing food drives, donating blood, collecting and distributing fans to senior citizens in homes without air conditioning, packing meals for hungry children around the world, conducting after-school mentoring programs for inner city youth, providing snack supplies for impoverished children in local schools, provided music scholarships for gifted young people in need, and many other acts of service.
