Broiler-type chicks hatched during January 2021 totaled 850 million, down one percent from January 2020. Eggs in incubators totaled 706 million on February 1, 2021, down two percent from a year ago. Leading breeders placed 8.10 million broiler-type pullet chicks for future domestic hatchery supply flocks during January 2021, up eight percent from January 2020.

Total frozen poultry supplies on January 31, 2021 were up three percent from the previous month but down 11 percent from a year ago. Total stocks of chicken were down five percent from the previous month and down 15 percent from last year.
