Broiler-type chicks hatched during December 2020 totaled 848 million, down one percent from December 2019. Eggs in incubators totaled 712 million on January 1, 2021, down slightly from a year ago.

Leading breeders placed 8.43 million broiler-type pullet chicks for future domestic hatchery supply flocks during December 2020, down two percent from December 2019. USDA’s latest Chickens and Eggs report can be found here.

Total frozen poultry supplies on December 31, 2020 were up one percent from the previous month but down 10 percent from a year ago. Total stocks of chicken were down two percent from the previous month and down 12 percent from last year, according to USDA’s Cold Storage report.
