Sanderson Farms on Monday was named one of America’s Best Employers in the state of Texas by Forbes magazine. This is the second time Sanderson Farms has been recognized by Forbes since it began ranking America’s Best Employers in 2015.

The 2020 America’s Best-in-State Employers list ranks top employers across 25 different industries and is based on the recommendations of employees, according to Sanderson’s press release.

“We are honored to be recognized as a leading employer, not only by Forbes, but also by the hardworking men and women who make up our Sanderson Farms family,” said Sanderson Farms CEO and Chairman of the Board Joe F. Sanderson Jr. “The company would not be where it is today without the unwavering support of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate.

“It takes a team of committed people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to bring our products from our family farms to our customers’ tables,” said Sanderson Farms President and COO Lampkin Butts. “Sanderson Farms’ dedicated employees are our greatest resource, and we are grateful for their invaluable contributions to the company’s success.”

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to conduct an anonymous online survey of 80,000 Americans working at companies with more than 500 employees per state. The survey asked workers to rate their willingness to recommend their current employer to their friends and family amongst other questions. The survey also asked workers to evaluate other employers in their current region.

Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2018 to May 2020. Responses regarding the same employers were compared throughout the process, so as to account for any statistically significant variations in the results collected before and after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, according to Forbes.
