The U.S. and China will review the implementation of the Phase One trade deal in an August 15 videoconference.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He will participate in the meeting. The meeting is an initial six-month review of the deal, which came into force on February 15, 2020.
Though both countries have maintained regular contact since the deal’s inception, a six-month review was long-expected, according to China’s ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tiankai’s comments to CNBC on Tuesday.
The two sides are expected to discuss the pace of purchases of agricultural goods, among other things.
