Chicken wings are synonymous with the Super Bowl and March Madness. But what about events and holidays in between the two?  Valentine’s Day is here, and consumers told NCC about their passion for chicken wings on their dating profile…

While love is in the air, a new survey conducted by NCC found that nearly all (91%) wing eaters stated they would be likely to go on a date with someone who included their love of chicken wings in their dating profile. Worried about hot sauce all over your face? Don’t. Nearly half (45%) of surveyed consumers said they don’t consider it risky to eat wings on a first date.

Further, if things go well, nearly two-thirds (64%) of wing eaters agreed they would accept a proposal if it was done with a chicken wing. However, women overall are less interested in putting a wing on it, with half (46%) stating they would not accept, compared to nearly one-third of men (27%).

About the survey methodology

On behalf of the National Chicken Council, Ketchum Analytics ran “U.S. Chicken Wing Consumption & Behavior Study” to better understand perceptions of chicken wing consumers. This study was fielded online by LUCID with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of +/-2.5% and ran from January 16th, 2020 to January 21st, 2020. The study was derived from a sample of 1,000 adults in the US who stated they eat chicken wings.
