The Senate on Thursday passed the Fiscal Year 2020 appropriations bill by a 71-23 vote. Six senators did not vote. The bill now heads to President Donald Trump for his signature.
The minibus, known as H.R. 1865, covers eight separate appropriations bills for the Departments of Agriculture, Labor, Health and Human Services, Energy, Interior, Veteran’s Affairs, Transportation, State and others. It also includes appropriations for the legislative branch, military construction, water and foreign operations. It is one of two minibus packages that would fully fund the government through the fiscal year.
The other package includes appropriations for the Department of Defense, Treasury, Homeland Security and others. The Senate also passed that bill on Thursday.
