House of Raeford announced this week its Arcadia, LA processing plant received the Private System of the Year award at the Louisiana Rural Water Association’s (LRWA) Annual Awards Banquet.

The plant’s Jimmy Adams was also announced as one of the finalists for Wastewater System Operator of the Year for northern Louisiana.

“House of Raeford is dedicated to helping maintain a cleaner environment through proper management of our wastewater system,” said Mark VanBenthuysen, complex manager for the Arcadia operation.  “Our new and upgraded treatment systems have resulted in dramatic improvements in wastewater quality.”

The awards, presented at LRWA’s 34th Annual Training and Technical Conference in Lake Charles, Louisiana, recognize the outstanding efforts of Rural Water and Wastewater Systems and their personnel.

On July 23, House of Raeford announced it was building a new feed mill to support the Arcadia plant and make upgrades to the plant and its supporting hatchery. The investment will be around $40 million in the feed mill and $7 million to upgrades at the plant and hatchery.
