The U.S. Congressional Chicken Caucus, comprised of members of both the House and Senate, on Wednesday hosted a briefing that was attended by more than 100 congressional staffers.

Harrison Kircher, NCC vice president of government affairs, spoke to the group about trade, U.S. broiler exports, and the importance of passing the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Ashley Peterson, senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs, presented the caucus with an overview of the broiler industry and vertical integration. Rounding out the briefing, Tom Super, senior vice president of communications, spoke about NCC’s Chicken Check In program, consumer misconceptions, the Chicken Feeds America economic impact study, and demonstrated for attendees NCC’s virtual reality videos and headsets.

In addition to the staffers, representatives from Tyson, Perdue and Pilgrim’s were in attendance.

Attendees dined on Chick-fil-A for lunch.  A special thank you to George Demetriades of Chick-fil-A, Crystal City, Va. for providing the food. Photos of the event are below:
