The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies approved on Thursday its FY2020 appropriations bill. It was passed by voice vote. The bill is reported to the full committee for consideration.
The bill includes $1.05 billion for the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), an identical appropriation to the FY2019 enacted level.
The bill includes $1.04 billion for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), a $23 million increase above the FY2019 enacted level.
If the full Appropriations committee votes in favor of the bill, it will be considered by the full House.
