Peco Foods announced on Monday that industry veteran Bill Griffith has joined the company as its chief operations officer. With more than 25 years of management experience, Griffith’s strong reputation for innovation, sustainability and quality naturally align with Peco’s core values, the company said in its press release.

“Bill is a trendsetter in food safety, quality assurance, technology and more,” said Peco Foods President and CEO Mark Hickman.  “Because of his track record, we have the highest respect for his ability to align products, facilities and customer needs and corporate priorities.  Bill is an excellent addition to the Peco team.

Griffith comes to Peco from Keystone Foods, U.S., where he previously served as president.  His strong science background and expertise in finance, strategic initiatives, marketing and sustainability provide a strong skill set for managing daily company operat

At Keystone, Griffith was responsible for all financial operational and business aspects of the company.  With nearly 5,800 employees, Keystone produces more than two billion pounds of meat and poultry products annually.

In additional to nine years with Keystone, Griffith had a successful tenure at Perdue Foods, overseeing food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of all Perdue products.  Prior to that, Griffith was a microbiologist at Tyson Foods where he established a global reputation as an innovator in food safety technology.

Griffith earned his degrees in biology and chemistry from Virginia Tech, remains active with the National Chicken Council and the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association and has received numerous awards.
