George’s Inc., a family-owned chicken processor in Springdale, Arkansas, has put in a bid to acquire Keystone Foods from Brazil’s meat producer Marfrig Global Foods, S.A., according to Reuters.
Keystone, a U.S. supplier of chicken nuggets to McDonald’s Corp, has also received binding proposals from Tyson Foods, Cargill, China’s Cofco Ltd. Corporation and China Investment Corporation. It is reported that Keystone’s owner is studying the binding offers to acquire the assets of Keystone Foods LLC as a decision nears. The five firms that have put in a bids to acquire Keystone have declined to comment because the discussions are private.
