A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at Tyson Foods’ new chicken processing plant in Green Forest, Arkansas, which opened a few weeks ago. The fire prompted the evacuation of the plant as firefighters were called in around 4 p.m.
The plant was evacuated and no one was reported injured. Tyson Spokesman Worth Sparkman said that the fire was in a maintenance room. “We appreciate the quick response of local firefighters who assisted our team,” Sparkman said. Sparkman also said he was not sure when that particular area of the plant would begin operations again
The cause of the fire was still under investigation. The flames were mostly put out with fire extinguishers,
