USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has published a Federal Register notice announcing the 2016 rates it will charge for voluntary grading, inspection, certification, auditing, and laboratory services for a variety of agricultural commodities, including meat and poultry.  The Federal Register notice is available here.

Many of AMS’ hourly rates for poultry grading, certification, and related work will increase October 1, 2016.  The following are the new hourly rates for services provided to the poultry industry.  Current hourly rates for services provided to the poultry industry are included in the Federal Register Notice.

Resident Service (in-plant): 

  • Regular per hour: $47
  • Overtime per hour: $51
  • Holiday per hour: $75
  • Includes Travel Costs in Rate: Yes

Resident Night Differential (6:00 pm -6:00 am)

  • Regular per hour: $51
  • Overtime per hour: $56
