Dr. Chad Malinak has joined the Peco Foods management team as director of veterinary services, according to an announcement today by Peco Foods CEO Mark Hickman. Dr. Malinak is board-certified by the American College of Poultry Veterinarians and brings a broad range of national industry experience to his new position with Peco Foods.
“As our first in-house avian veterinarian specialist, Dr. Malinak will play a key role in Peco Foods’ animal health and welfare programs,” Hickman said. “Maintaining the highest levels of animal health and safety has been a priority for our company since we were founded in the 1930’s and we closely monitor the very latest advances in veterinary medicine. Given Peco’s growth and expansion in the industry, bringing a highly credentialed specialist of Dr. Malinak’s caliber on board is another significant step forward.”
Chad Malinak earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech and received his D.V.M. degree from Louisiana State University before pursuing advanced academic training at the University of Georgia, where he received the Master’s of Avian Medicine designation. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians and holds veterinary licensure and USDA accreditation in several states.
Dr. Malinak’s previous industry experience includes Pilgrim’s Pride and the House of Raeford Farms. He has worked extensively in developing vaccination programs, creating diagnostic plans, and overseeing husbandry and animal welfare programs among other related areas.
Dr. Malinak is a member of numerous professional and scientific organizations and currently serves as the National Chicken Council representative on the Animal Agriculture Liaison Committee of the American Veterinary Medicine Association. He has presented his research findings at numerous conferences and symposia.
