Ashley Peterson, Ph.D., has been named senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs. Peterson joined NCC in August of 2011 after positions with the United Egg Producers and the American Meat Institute. Peterson’s responsibilities at NCC include food safety, poultry inspection and animal welfare issues, as well as keeping her finger on the pulse of initiatives within federal regulatory agencies. She began her career in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional Science Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives, working on agriculture, energy and environment issues.

Tom Super

Tom Super

Tom Super will serve as NCC’s senior vice president of communications. Before joining NCC in November 2011, Super served as vice president of public affairs at the American Meat Institute. Previously, he handled strategic communications at Greener and Hook, LLC and prior to that spent three years on Capitol Hill working for Virginia Senator John W. Warner in the United States Senate. Super is responsible at NCC for day-to-day media relations, media outreach, social media and digital management and strategic communications planning.

“Ashley and Tom have been invaluable members of the NCC team for the past four years,” said NCC President Mike Brown. “Their performances and years of hard work on behalf of the chicken industry are proven assets to our members, and make today’s announcement well deserved. They both have the full faith and confidence of the NCC leadership and our members.”
