Allison Rogers has joined the National Chicken Council staff as Manager of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs. Allison is a recent graduate from the University of Delaware with her Master of Science in Animal Science, and Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences. Allison’s focus at the University of Delaware was research in poultry welfare and genetics, including her thesis on the effect of alternative, high-efficiency light technologies on broiler growth, stress, and genetic response.
Allison will be working with National Chicken Council members, regulatory agencies, and consumers on topics including food safety, inspection standards, and broiler welfare. She will report to NCC’s Vice President, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Dr. Ashley Peterson. “Allison’s background in poultry welfare and research in poultry house lighting will be beneficial to the council and the industry as a whole,” said Dr. Peterson. “I am confident Allison will make an excellent addition to the NCC staff and look forward to working with her in scientific and regulatory affairs.”
