The U.S. Supreme Court ruled this week that Section 806 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which bans retaliation against whistleblowers applies not only to employees of public companies but also to employees of contractors and subcontractors who carry out work for public companies.  The 6-3 decision significantly expands the coverage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and dramatically expands the potential for whistleblower lawsuits.
