USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is holding its annual meeting to discuss the AMS commodity purchase program on January 15-16 in Arlington, Virginia. All contractors and commodity supplier are invited to participate.
The meeting will include two half-day sessions with the first session covering general program topics such as the Web-Based Supply Chain Management Systems and the Master Solicitation. The second half-day session will be dedicated to industry break-out groups, providing the opportunity to meet with managers, contracting officers, specialists, and technical staff to discuss commodity-specific topics and concerns related to each industry. The agenda will include processing, specifications changes, variable weight concerns, and long-term contracting.
The meeting, scheduled for January 15-16, will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington, D.C.-Crystal City, 300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia. A block of rooms have been reserved under the event name “AMS Annual Industry Meeting” at the rate of $184 for a single and $204 for a double. Participants must make their own reservations by calling the hotel at (703) 416-4100 and using the group code UFV. The hotel rate will be available through December 15 or until the group block is sold out.
