Sales and marketing executives from poultry processing companies, distributors, supermarket and foodservice buyers, and allied industry executives gathered July 21-23 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for the National Chicken Council’s annual July Marketing Seminar.
Jacqueline Beckley Discusses the Keys to New Food Product Success
The two-day seminar, sponsored by NCC in cooperation with the National Poultry & Food Distributors Association, explored successful marketing methods to appeal to the various generations, consumer purchasing behavior, and methods to succeed with new product launches as well as discussions on sustainability and corporate responsibility. Analysts also provided in-depth market analysis for both broilers and competing meats.
National Chicken Council Chairman of the Board Bill Lovette, president and chief operating officer at Pilgrim’s, made opening remarks at the seminar as did NPFDA President Marc Miro, president and chief operating officer, Global Food Innovations, also welcomed seminar participants in remarks opening the seminar.

An informative and interesting panel discussion consisting of representatives from the supermarket and foodservice segments was also part of the seminar program. The panel was comprised of Andy Anderson, Brookshire Grocery Company; Andy Davidson, The Kroger Company; Stephanie-Flanders-Martin, Spicy Pickle, and Kelly Mortensen, Associated Food Stores.
This year’s seminar also incorporated a number of relaxing networking opportunities, including an evening reception via boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene and the ever popular yearly Poultry Power golf tournament.
