The House Energy and Commerce Committee is issuing a series of white papers as the first step in reviewing the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The first issue paper released this week is entitled “Blend Wall/Fuel Compatibility.” The paper explains the history of the RFS and the targets and timetables for four categories of biofuels to be added into the nation’s transportation fuel supply. The paper states that it has been more than five years since the RFS was last revised and that there is now a wealth of actual implementation experience with the RFS.
The paper ends with questions for stakeholders to comment back to the committee. After all the comments are collected on all the issue papers, there will be a full committee hearing on the RFS. You can view the issue paper here.
