USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Commodity Procurement (AMS-CP) is launching a new commodity procurement (CP) news service so that subscribers can receive news releases about program developments and happenings. Recipients must be signed-up to receive the releases. AMS-CP has maintained various distribution lists through which procurement information, notices, program news, and other information is provided (via e-mail) to USDA suppliers and processors, government agencies, industry organizations, and the general public. In an effort to more effectively provide this type of information to program stakeholders, and reduce the administrative burden of maintaining this service, AMS-CP will replace its current e-mail process with a subscription-based service (aka a ListServ).
The implementation date for the AMS-CP News service will be December 1, 2012. At that time, AMS-CP will discontinue using its current e-mail lists and begin distributing procurement information solely through AMS-CP News subscriptions. Prior to this implementation date, any individual currently receiving e-mailed solicitations, awards, and other announcements, and who wishes to continue receiving such notifications, must visit AMS’ website and subscribe to AMS Procurement News.
Please note that while “What’s New: Notices and Press Releases” is optional, everyone is advised to subscribe to this list to stay informed of important updates, upcoming events, and general program-wide announcements affecting AMS Commodity Procurement. To subscribe, go here and click on the “Subscribe to AMS-CP News” link. A list of subscription choices available under AMS-CP, with details about which commodity products are covered can be viewed here.
