Val Vail-Shirey has been named the new executive director of the Michigan Allied Poultry Industry Association (MAPI). She is president of Julian Vail LLC in Lansing, Michigan, which is a lobbying and public relations firm. Previously, Vail-Shirey was with the Michigan Corn Growers and Michigan Equine Association. MAPI plans to become more involved in lobbying at both the state and national level. On January 1, 2013, George House, MAPI’s current executive director, will retire.
