USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) on August 20 purchased chicken products as indicated below for distribution to the school lunch child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for fiscal year 2012.
Deliveries will be made from October 1 through October 31.

AMS also announced on Tuesday plans to purchase canned, boned poultry (50 ounce) for school lunch and other domestic food nutrition assistance programs. The 50-ounce cans must be packaged in a 404 x 700-size metal can and packed 12 cans in each fiberboard shipping container. A purchase unit will consist of 1,000 shipping containers totaling 37,500 pounds (17,030 kilograms). A solicitation will be issued in the near future.
