Charlie Cook, dubbed the “Picasso of election analysis,” by The Wall Street Journal, is slated to speak at the National Chicken Council’s 58th Annual Conference scheduled October 10-11 at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington D.C. He is the editor and publisher of The Cook Political Report, a columnist for the National Journal, and a political analyst for NBC News. Cook, armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of American politics and a quick wit, will analyze the important upcoming elections and address today’s political and legislative environment in his usual balanced, nonpartisan way.
For more than two decades, Cook has been one of Washington’s most trusted and most accurate voices on all things political, whether it is the outcome of a presidential, congressional, or gubernatorial election. He produces the sharpest political handicapping in the business, serving as the one-man, go-to-source for those who want to be truly informed. “The Cook Political Report is a newsletter that both parties regard as authoritative,” The New York Times said and is the “bible of the political community,” said Bob Schieffer of CBS News. In 2010, he was a co-recipient of the American Political Science Associations’ prestigious Carey McWilliams Award to honor a “major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics.”
