Exporters of meat and poultry products must begin using USDA’s electronic Trade Document Exchange (eTDE) system to transmit Food Safety and Inspection (FSIS) health certificates to inspection officials in China and Russia beginning in June. FSIS will update its export library on the new eTDE requirement in the coming weeks, according to the FSIS announcement.

In preparation for the transition to eTDE, Fariba (“Fari”) Tacoukjou of USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service will lead an orientation session via the Web.  To participate in the webinar, click here to the shared screen session that will allow interested persons to view Tacoukjou’s computer screen from each person’s own computer.  In addition, webinar participants are to call-in to the conference number so that the USDA officials can walk the participants through the system.  The dial-in number is (800) 867 – 6144, code: 8568.

For more information about the webinar and eTDE system contact Rufino Hurtado, international trade specialist,  Office of Agreements and Scientific Affairs, Foreign Agricultural Service, USDA,  via email at [email protected] or by phone (202) 720 – 1252.
