USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) on December 14 purchased chicken products as indicated below for distribution to the school lunch child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for fiscal year 2012. Deliveries will be made from January 16 to February 15, 2012.

In addition, USDA reported that a total of 40,000 pounds of cut-up chicken were not purchased because of a technical error; 160,000 pounds of chicken leg quarters were not purchased because no bids were received; and 648,000 pounds of bulk chicken legs and 1,656,000 pounds of oven roasted chicken were not purchased due to vendors meeting their maximum constraints.
