The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in a recent court filing signaled its intention to publish a final rule on hours of service by December 28, according to a report from the American Trucking Association (ATA). The rule continues to be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget.  The final rule is not expected to take effect immediately upon publication, but rather FMCSA is likely to give industry some lead time to come into compliance.  ATA and other groups may file for an injunction if the rule is significantly objectionable, ATA noted.
