Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will moderate a panel of former Secretaries of Agriculture to speak on “Agriculture: Visions of the Future” at USDA’s 2012 Agricultural Outlook Forum. At least six of the last eight secretaries will participate. The 2012 forum entitled “Moving Agriculture Forward” will be held February 23-24 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.
Secretary Vilsack will deliver the forum keynote address. Twenty-five breakout sessions with more than 80 speakers will focus on a broad range of issues related to agriculture including global food security; foreign trade; financial markets; economic development; conservation; energy; climate change; and food safety, among other topics. The forum will also feature USDA’s agricultural outlook and the commodity supply and demand and food price outlook.
