USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) this week purchased 5,000,000 pounds of chicken and chicken products at a cost of $4,714,518 for school lunch and other domestic food nutrition assistance programs. The Department also announced commitments for the purchases of diced cooked chicken for fiscal year 2011. The complete purchase report for chicken and chicken products can be found on AMS’s Web site. In addition, USDA announced yesterday commitments to purchase diced cooked chicken for distribution to the child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2011.
AMS awarded contracts to the following companies in response to Solicitation No. 2000000219 dated on June 2 as follows:
- Tip Top Poultry for the Northeast Region. The period of performance is from August 16 through June 30, 2012. The unit price awarded per state is $2.50 per pound. The guaranteed minimum contract amount is $100,000 and the not-to-exceed maximum contract amount is $2,000,000.
- Crider for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Mountain Plains Region, Southeast Region, and Southwest Region. The period of performance is from August 16 through June 30, 2012. The unit price awarded per state ranges from $1.94 to $1.98 per pound. The guaranteed minimum contract amount is $1,241,600 and the not-to-exceed maximum contract amount is $17,180,000.
- Southern Hens for the Western Region. The period of performance is from August 16 through June 30, 2012. The unit price awarded per state ranges from $2.19 to $2.45 per pound. The guaranteed minimum contract amount is $350,400 and the not-to-exceed maximum contract amount is $2,940,000.
- Tyson Foods for the Midwest Region. The period of performance is from August 16 through June 30, 2012. The unit price awarded per state is $2.3717 per pound. The guaranteed minimum contract amount is $379,472 and the not-to-exceed maximum contract amount is $6,640,760.
