The National Chicken Council has hired Jenell Eck and Matthew Reynolds as interns for the summer months.

Jenell Eck is a student at the University of Delaware, where she is a rising senior, working on a dual major in agriculture and natural resources and communications.

Jenell Eck

Jenell grew up on a poultry and grain farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Her family takes pride in producing large broilers for the general public and ensures a safe and healthy environment. Upon high school graduation, Jenell had two opportunities that led her to agriculture communications: Maryland Future Farmers of America State President 2014 to 2015 and Miss Maryland Agriculture 2015.

During that time, Jenell advocated about the agriculture industry and blogged about the journey of her family’s eight-week birds.  At the National Chicken Council, she will be assisting with media relations, positive media outreach, website upkeep, social media management and strategic planning.

Matthew Reynolds will be actively supporting NCC’s government affairs, legislative, and communications teams throughout the summer months.

Matthew Reynolds

Before joining NCC as a summer intern, Matthew interned in the House of Representatives with Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) and Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) in their Washington, D.C offices. Matthew is a student-athlete at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, pursuing degrees in international affairs and business.

At Wofford, Matthew is the goalkeeper for the men’s soccer team and has also served as a delegate in student government. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew is an avid sports fan, reader, and golfer.
