Safe Foods Corporation, a National Chicken Council Allied Leader member company, won a 2018 Governor’s Award in Excellence in Global Trade on May 30, announced and presented by Governor Asa Hutchinson.  The award recognizes companies who develop innovative approaches to international business.

A global leader in food safety management, Safe Foods partners with food processors to deliver solutions and products that reduce pathogens that cause food-borne illnesses.

While grateful and humbled by the award, Safe Foods, North Little Rock, Arkansas,  is not resting on it laurels, the company said in a press release.  The company in renovating a 120,000 square-foot building in North Little Rock that will centralize it operations under one roof.  Logistically located for easy convenient rail and interstate access, the facility will be designed to LEED certification standards and its opening will create 35-long-term jobs.

The new Arkansas facility will streamline and bolster research and development for Safe Foods customers, with new studies and processing strategies developing in the same building where they can be most efficiently tested and put into pratical use.

The new facility is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2019.
