Joe Moran Promoted to CEO of Allen Harim

Allen Harim yesterday announced that Joe Moran has been promoted to chief executive officer. Moran, a poultry industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, including growout, production, sales and marketing, finance, and human resources.  Moran succeeds Steven A. Evans, who has elected to pursue another opportunity in the industry.

Moran joined Allen Harim in November 2015 as Executive Director and a member of the company’s Leadership Council.   “During his first six months with Allen Harim, Moran has been responsible for efficiently and effectively managing both our growout and production operations while spearheading major upgrades at our Harbeson, Delaware facility,” said Mr. Hong-Kuk Kim, Chairman, Harim Group.  “His leadership, experience and innovative approach have helped position Allen Harim for growth, and his commitment to the welfare of our workforce is unmatched.”

Before joining Allen Harim, Moran served as chief operations officer at Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, Delaware. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from James Madison University. He resides in Ocean View, Delaware, with his wife, Kristy.

Allen Harim is headquartered in Seaford, Delaware, and employs more than 1,800 people in the United States, as well as more than 230 independent growers and 20 company farms across Delmarva. The company owns and operates a breeding operation in Liberty, North Carolina, hatcheries in Seaford and Dagsboro, Delaware, and chicken processing facilities in Harbeson, Delaware and Cordova, Maryland. The company’s feed mill, which produces 100 percent vegetarian feed for all of its chickens, is also located in Seaford, Delaware.
