The Poultry Exchange has joined the National Chicken Council as an allied member. Janette Barnard, CEO of the Dallas-based company, will serve as the official representative to NCC.

The Poultry Exchange is an electronic trading platform that streamlines buying and selling chicken in the spot market.  The Poultry Exchange enables commercial chicken buyers and sellers to securely, efficiently, and effectively conduct transactions.   The Poultry Exchange is still in the development phase but a beta launch is expected in May, followed by opening the platform to more  users about 60 days later, the company said.

Sellers can get product offerings in front of more buyers directly; find the right buyer with willingness to pay; efficiently find the market clearing price through a rules-based bidding process, and access real-time spot market data to quickly track market movement. To join as a seller/producer and list product on The Poultry Exchange, there is a monthly subscription fee and commission on a per pound basis.

Buyers can gain greater access to the spot market; find the right product at the right time at the right price; efficiently negotiate price, and access real-time spot market data to track market movement. Buyers will pay a monthly subscription fee to have access to listings in The Poultry Exchange.  The buyer monthly subscription fee is $350 per user or $300 per user for companies with two or more user accounts.
