Bloomberg News reported this week that Iraq will ban poultry imports from the United States as a result of avian influenza.  The ban will last three months, according to the Iraq Cabinet, which stated the policy on its website Wednesday. The ban also applies to Kazakhstan and the Ivory Coast.

The Kurdish region also banned poultry imports from United States, said Abbas Ali, director general of veterinary in the area’s agriculture ministry.  The Kurdish region lifted a ban on poultry imports from most of Turkey.
