Aviagen announced today that Chief Executive Officer Randall Ennis is stepping down from that position.  Effective January 1, Ennis will be taking on a new role with the EW Group, who owns Aviagen, as director of global business development.In his new role, Ennis will report directly to the owners of the EW Group and will be responsible for a number of important expansion projects for the wider group.  He will also remain on the Aviagen Group Board, and he will assist in the transitional period during the change in leadership at Aviagen.  “Randall has been with Aviagen for more than 18 years and had held a range of important management roles during this time.  Under his leadership, Aviagen’s broiler business has developed into a real global player with subsidiaries in more than 20 countries around the world.  We are convinced that Randall’s excellent knowledge of the global breeding industry, combined with his extraordinary international experience and network make him the ideal fit for this important position in the EW Group,” said Erich Wesjohann, CEO of the parent company EW Group.

Jan Henriksen, a Danish citizen, will succeed Ennis.  Henriksen, with more than 20 years of experience in global agribusiness, has been a non-executive director on the Aviagen Group Board and is former CEO of Kronfogel Holding, a leading European broiler integration company.  “We are pleased to have Jan Henriksen on board as new CEO of the Aviagen Broiler Breeder Group.  With his broad experience in the successful management of international agricultural and poultry businesses, he is the ideal person to continue the successful development that Aviagen has experienced over the years,” said Dirk Wesjohann, chairman of the Aviagen Group.
