Chicken exports in June this year were 306,397 metric tons valued at $379.40 million compared with 283,451 tons valued at $347.01 million in June 2012, a 8.1-percent increase in quantity and a 9.3-percent increase in value. In June, Mexico was again the leading parts market with 55,782 tons valued at $57.84 million, a 25.3-percent increase in tonnage and a 24.81-percent increase in dollars. Russia, th second largest parts market, took 34,670 tons valued at $38.56 million, a 83.6-percent increase in quantity and a 84.8-percent increase in value. China, the third largest parts destination in June this year, had a 34.4-percent increase in tonnage and a 40.5-percent increase in value. Ten of the top 15 parts markets had increases in both quantity and value. For the top 15 markets combined the quantity was up 20.7 percent while the combined value rose 19.9 percent. Parts exports to “other countries” were off 15.8 percent in quantity and down 12.2 percent in value.

Chicken parts exports during January-June 2013 totaled 1,747,575 tons valued at $2,153.52 million, 0.5 percent more than the 1,738,241 tons during the first half of last year and 0.7 percent above the $2,138.90 million during January-June a year earlier.  By a significant margin, Mexico was the leading parts destination with 313,463 tons valued at $342.13 million, a 25.9-percent increase in quantity and a 24.2-percent increase in value. Ten of the top 15 parts markets had increases in both quantity and value during the first six months this year. Together, the 15 largest parts countries had a 5.8-percent increase in quantity and a 4.5- percent rise in value. On the other hand, “other countries” experienced a 10.5-percent decrease in quantity and a 7.8-percent decrease in value
