Cobank, an NCC allied leader, announced recently that Chief Executive Officer Bob Engel has appointed Mary McBride as president of the bank and Thomas Halverson as chief banking officer.  CoBank is a cooperative bank serving agribusiness, rural infrastructure providers, and Farm Credit Associations throughout the United States.

McBride has been with CoBank since 1993 and has served in a variety of executive positions during her 20-year tenure.  She has managed the bank’s capital markets, corporate finance, and operations divisions and spent six years as executive vice president in charge of lending to rural infrastructure customers.  She served as chief operating officer of the bank in 2009 and 2010 before being named chief banking officer.  Prior to joining CoBank, McBride worked as a senior vice president at Wells Fargo/First Interstate Bank of Denver.

Halverson comes to CoBank after more than 15 years at Goldman Sachs.  He most recently served a managing director and chief of staff for Goldman Sachs Bank USA .  Previously he served in a variety of executive positions at the firm, including head of credit risk management for Goldman Sachs in Asia and executive director of credit risk managment and advisory in London.
