USDA’s Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) this week published for comment a proposed new system of records, GIPSA-1, Packers and Stockyards Automated System (PAS).  According to USDA, PAS will be used by GIPSA to enforce the Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921.  PAS is an automated information management system that integrates case file management, data monitoring, and reporting into a single application that shares data across organizational units.

The notice will be adopted without further publication in the Federal Register on May 13  unless notified by a subsequent notice to incorporate comments received from the public.  USDA invites comments on all portions of the notice, which are due by May 3.
