Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan announced yesterday that she will be leaving USDA. Merrigan is best known for developing the agency’s “Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food” initiative and her support for local and regional agriculture . Merrigan did not say when she would leave or announce any specific future plans.
